Olivia Grider and Five Other AMP Members Win in National Communications Contest

Six Alabamians brought home awards for their professional performance in the September National Federation of Press Women Communications Contest. Two standouts were Olivia Grider, who won $150 for placing 2nd in the Sweepstakes (collection of all contest awards); and Elaine Hobson Miller, who was runner up in the Communicator of Achievement category.

 

This national contest brings attention to the high level of expertise Alabama Media Professionals members have. AMP's meetings and networking provide for training in the ever-changing media field. In this year's NFPW contest, Grider won national-level 1st Place awards in the following categories:

  • Writing Division - Specialty Article - education

  • Advertising Division - Single Advertisement for Print or Electronic Publication

  • PR Materials - Catalogs, Manuals, and Handbooks

  • PR Materials - Direct Mail Marketing

  • PR Materials - Magazine

 

She won 2nd Place in the PR Materials - Brochures - corporate or for-profit category and 3rd Place in the Advertising Division - Advertising Posters, Billboard, and Banners category.

 

Other AMP members who won in the NFPW National Communications Contest:

  • Meredith Cummings, who won 1st Place in the Writing Division - Blogs - Personal category and 2nd Place in the Writing Division - Editorial / Opinion - Print-Based Newspaper category.

  • Solomon Crenshaw, Jr., who won 2nd Place in the Writing Division - Specialty Articles - Sports category.

  • Donna Francavilla, who won 2nd Place in the Radio Division - Prepared Report - news, features, sports, or opinion category.

  • Tina Tidmore, who won Honorable Mention in the Web and Social Media Division - Website Edited or Managed by Entrant - corporate or for-profit category.
