January 2023 meeting: AMP, Homewood Rotary team to host panel on news literacy

AMP will host a panel discussion with local, award-winning journalists during a joint meeting with Homewood Rotary Club on Jan. 12 from noon to 1 p.m. at Homewood Library. Panel-discussion topics will include news literacy and misinformation.

Virginia Martin, news editor at BirminghamWatch
Carla Wade, news anchor at WVTM NBC Channel 13
Ruth Serven Smith, education editor for AL.com
Rashah McChesney, senior content editor for the Gulf States Newsroom
AMP Vice President of Programs Clay Carey, a journalism professor at Samford University, will moderate the discussion.
The event will be held in the library's main auditorium, which is Homewood Rotary Club's usual meeting space.
